Call for Proposals
We invite you to participate in the annual meeting of the Southeast Philosophy of Education Society (SEPES) in Athens, GA February 21-22, 2020. SEPES has a long tradition of providing a friendly forum for dialogue and the exchange of philosophical ideas related to a broad variety of educational topics. We welcome presentations from graduate students, scholars, and practitioners from both within and beyond
While there is no particular theme to the conference, SEPES encourages participants to engage with philosophical ideas concerning education at various levels. Possible topics might include, but are not limited to, the following:
- the relationship of school to society
- democracy and education
- issues of diversity and commonality in education
- neoliberalism, neoconservatism, and conservative modernization in education
- education in the Anthropocene
- contemporary theory in education
- methodological approaches in educational research
We invite proposals on these and other topics that meaningfully engage philosophy in the consideration of problems of educational relevance. Proposals should be no more than 500 words, excluding references, and should be submitted online through the following link: bit.ly/SEPES2020
